Smack% is a Category Extension for Horizon Zero Dawn that was invented by Indeykaa around July 2020. The run takes place within the Frozen Wilds DLC area of the map and completes a large portion of the "Waterlogged" side quest. It is currently the second-shortest category on the leaderboards.
Timing And Goal[edit | edit source]
The goal of Smack% is to have Gildun smack Aloy on her "back" during a cutscene taking place near the end of the "Waterlogged" side quest. To achieve this, you need to make your way to Greyhatch from the start of The Frozen Wilds, then complete the objectives within the area. Timing for the category starts at the bottom of the handholds near the Grave-Hoard leading into The Frozen Wilds. It is not allowed to enter The Frozen Wilds beforehand. Timing ends upon Gildun smacking Aloy's "back" in the aforementioned cutscene.

The first Smack% run was completed by Indeykaa on the 22nd of July 2020 with a final time of around 18 minutes. Notable runners after this included Marenelinea and Robsdedude, before the first sub 10 minute run was done by Elkjaer with a time of 9:59. The first sub 9 minute run was done by JakTheFroge and the first sub 8 minute run was done by Overkiter. The leaderboards were initially kept on an Excel Spreadsheet created by Wolfsquish before the Category Extensions were created on Speedrun.com.
