In Horizon Zero Dawn runs are timed without loads. For ease of use there are two automatic load removers (LR) available. For all LRs, make sure to set your timer to display Game Time and not Real Time.

Memory Based Load Remover[edit | edit source]

This LR reads the game memory to detect loads and is the most accurate LR. It also is the most easy to setup requiring only Livesplit. To activate the LR, you only need to select the game "Horizon Zero Dawn" in the Splits Editor and it will automatically download and enable the LR when you press "Activate".

Important: This Load Remover only works for HZD Patch 1.11.2 from Steam and GOG. It does NOT support the game from the Epic Games Store due to lack of available testers.

Video Based Load Remover[edit | edit source]

For Console we provide a video based LR that you can run on a PC that detects loads by looking at the video feed of the game. This could be captured with a dedicated capture card or using Playstation Remote Play.

Since OBS version 28 the old method of detecting the loads is unreliable to initialize so we are currently working on replacing it. While the new version is work in progress, you can check out how to install the old method here: https://www.speedrun.com/hzd/guides/7j54z
