Bomb Drop
General[edit | edit source]
The Bomb Drop is a technique in Horizon Zero Dawn used to prevent fall damage from being taken after dropping from a great height originally discovered by Felice. It uses a dropped bomb to land on in order to reduce your falling speed before you hit the ground.

How To Perform[edit | edit source]
To do a Bomb Drop, head to a great height, then quickly release a bomb and time dropping off the platform after dropping the bomb. How long you need to wait before dropping off will depend on how high up you are. It is easier to perform the technique if you are using the Hunter's Reflexes skill, but it is not necessary.

Mechanics[edit | edit source]
Bomb Drops work by letting Aloy land on the bomb right before hitting the ground, this works because Aloy's maximum falling speed is higher than that of a bomb. Because the bomb is also moving down, the game will think Aloy has less falling speed than she does, and therefore you don't take any damage upon hitting the bomb, even though your falling speed is reduced to zero. Because your falling speed is now zero, Aloy needs to accelerate over again, and will be falling slowly enough to not die once you hit the ground.
Uses[edit | edit source]
Bomb Drops currently don't have any uses in runs due to the lack of required large drops in Horizon Zero Dawn. They can be fun to play around with casually though.
